Rose Moon- Head of Pre-School
Rose is a qualified level 3 Early Years Practitioner and experienced Montessori teacher holding both QTS and Montessori qualification. Rose completed her Diploma in Montessori: Early Years Educator with the Montessori Centre International. She did her training at Cliffton Children's House with Mary Lazo.
Kate Evans- Head of Primary
Kate achieved a distinction in her qualification as a Montessori teacher. She is also a qualified mainstream teacher and hold QTS. She has experience of teaching in primary and secondary schools, both mainstream and Montessori. Kate is also a qualified Specialist Teacher of pupils with specific learning difficulties (SpLD). She is the lead teacher for the 4-6 Primary Class.
Esma Izzidien- Director and Founder
Esma is the Director of the nursery and school. She is also a medical doctor (MBChB and MRCGP) and works part-time as a GP. During medical school and while working in Paediatrics she developed an interest in child development. Her passion for Montessori Education began when she had her own 2 children and starting researching various educational approaches. She is a member of the Montessori Schools Association. Esma works at the nursery and school Wednesday to Friday. She is also studying towards her level 3 CACHE qualification in Childcare and Education.
Kimberley Perrett- Lead Nido Teacher & Nursery Manager
Kimberley holds a cache level 3 certificate in childcare. She has always believed that children should be given the freedom to explore and be guided to achieve their independence. Since learning about the Montessori Method she feels she has finally found an approach to childcare that fits with her own natural approach. She has passed her practical exam in the Montessori Apparatus and is currently completing her IMP.
Estefania MonAlday- 4-6 class teacher
Estefania graduated from the International University of Valladoliod with a degree in Primary School education and holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status). She moved from Spain to Bristol in 2014 and soon after settled in Cardiff. She currently also works at the Saturday Circle teaching Spanish to children aged between 3 and 5 years.
She is very passionate about Montessori education and is currently studying with the Montessori Centre international to achieve her certificate in Integrating Montessori Practice..
Aimee Nash- Pre-School Trainee Teacher/ TA and Forest school lead
Aimee holds a CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education. She is also a Level 2 Forest School Assistant. She is very passionate about Montessori education and outdoor learning. She has a very calm and relaxed manner. Aimee will be the lead on Forest School and will be working primarily in the Pre-School but also works with the primary class for Forest school sessions.
She is hard working and reliable and enthusiastic to train in the Montessori Method
Ellie Metcalfe- Nursery Teacher
Ellie holds a CACHE level 3 certificate. She feels the Montessori approach is perfectly aligned to child development and was immediately fond of it. Ellie has a lovely calm manner and aspires to ensure each child always gets the best possible start in life.
Chris Lee-Brassington - Nursery Trainee Teacher/ TA
Chris previously worked at Woodlands Montessori. He also has specific experience in working with children with special needs. Chris is a very dedicated individual and is currently studying towards his CACHE level 3 in childcare.
Bethan Prosser - Nursery Support Worker
Bethan holds a cache level 3 in childcare. She has experience working as a teaching assistant and a breakfast club supervisor. She works as a support worker in the nursery class, in particular over the lunch period..
Maud Neumer - French language TA
Maud is a native French speaker with a great interest for Education and Languages. She holds a Youth Leadership Certificate (French BAFA) and has worked as an activity Leader and a French Session Leader for many years.
She has a Master’s Degree from Centre Européen Universitaire in European Studies, Major in Strategic Communication and Public Relations in Europe. She also has elementary proficiency in Spanish.
Louise Dwyer - Nursery Teacher
Louise holds a CACHE level 3 in childcare and education. She has a very kind manner and a great love for the children. She will be training in the Montessori method while with us.
Michelle Thompson - Nursery and School administrator
Michelle is a highly enthusiastic, hardworking and conscientious employee with over 25 years experience in the commercial and public sector. Her previous posts including working for a print company and as a GP Appraisal officer. She is the first point of call for parents with general enquiries.
Saray Molina - Spanish language TA
Saray is a native Spanish speaker. She completed her degree in Primary School Teaching at Seville University in Spain. She is also completing her 0-3 AMI Montessori Assistant to Infancy course. She is a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader and enjoys dance and travel.
Julie Lockwood - School Support worker
Julie has a vast array of experience in public service having worked as both an in-flight assistant and police officer in the past. She then discovered a love of teaching and had been volunteering in a school for several years before coming to Cardiff Montessori. She works to assist where needed in the school and in particular over the lunch period. Julie is currently doing her Cache level 3 in childcare.
Marine Gombault - French Primary TA
Marine’s is a Native French speaker and has completed her certificate in the Introduction to the Montessori approach. Her role will be to talk to and assist the children through only speaking French to them. We feel that the benefits of full language immersion in this way will serve the children better. She joins us Mon, Tues, Thurs 9-11am and Friday’s 1:30-3:30pm
